New members area

Welcome to Edinburgh Young Walkers (EYW). My name is Lara and I am the membership secretary for the group. Thank you for signing up and joining EYW. Now that you have signed up we really hope that you will be able to join us on some of the many planned walks and at the regular monthly social events.

You should find all the essential information you need re. EYW membership in this ‘New Members Area‘. This includes info re kit listswalk grading so you know what kind of walk you are signing up for, where we meet and some useful info and web links. Please spend some time looking at this info and browsing the site.

We have a varied and active walks programme ranging from lower level coastal walks to challenging days in the Munros and Corbetts. Just click on the ‘Events‘ tab to browse the calendar, find out more information about planned walks and sign up. Please use the ‘RSVP’ function (on the right hand side of the walk information) to sign-up. If you need some more information about that particular walk then feel free to contact the walk leader.

Also in the Events section you will find details of our planned monthly social events. These usually consist of a pub night each month but also include a wide variety of other activities throughout the year.

We encourage all of our members to also be members of the Ramblers Association – there is a link to ‘Join Ramblers‘ under the ‘New Members Area’ tab and further information on members benefits etc are in the ‘membership section.

Please do visit the ‘Forum‘ page and take a moment to introduce yourself, add a photo of yourself to your profile and once you start to get out on some walks with the group please post your pics in our ‘Photos‘ section.

If you have any questions about membership or the group then please feel free to drop me a line – mail Lara through this site. Other key contact information and details of the EYW committee can be found in the ‘Contacts‘ section under the ‘New members area’ tab.

We look forward to seeing you out and about on a hill sometime soon :-)
